FertileGroundworks – Fight Food Insecurity

Join others at Blue Oaks to help provide food to those who are food insecure. Fertile Groundworks in Livermore grows food that is provided to a variety of Tri-Valley food distribution organizations. You will complete a variety of tasks in the garden, including harvesting, weeding, planting, composting, and more. It’s a great way to serve and learn more about gardening.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps people build and improve places to call home. This includes building playhouses for kids in need.

    • 9:30am to 2:30pm, includes a 30 minute break for lunch
  • Spaces Available: 24
  • Deadline to register: October 1st, 2024

Fertile Groundworks teaches and empowers individuals and communities to improve their health, well-being, and self-reliance by growing food—organically and sustainably—for themselves and others. The produce from their garden feeds those in our community who are food insecure.

The team will complete a variety of tasks in the garden, including harvesting, weeding, planting, composting, and more! It’s a great way to serve and meet others you serve with.

  • When:
    • May 2nd from 9-12pm
  • Spaces Available:
    • Up to 14 volunteers per session, anyone under 12 needs to be accompanied by a parent.

It’s a great place to volunteer and connect with your community, along with learning some new things about gardening.  No experience necessary.  We hope to see you!
