Take your Next Step
No matter where you are in your journey toward Christ-centeredness, whether you are a non-believer or a mature believer, there are steps you can take to bring Christ closer to you.
In order to grow deeper in our relationship with Christ we need to invest both time and effort in getting to know His heart for us.
Begin a relationship with Jesus
Make a decision to accept the gift of grace Jesus offers.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ~ Romans 10:9
Get Baptized
Take one step of obedience that will begin a life of transformation.
We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. ~ Romans 6:4
Gather for worship and teaching weekly
Experience the movement of the Spirit through a weekly worship gathering.
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching. ~ Hebrews 10:25
Read the Bible and pray daily
Engage in two of the most formative spiritual practices daily.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will. ~ Romans 12:2
Serve on a team
Use the unique gifts, talents and abilities God has given you. In the church, everyone should play his or her part.
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. ~ Philippians 2:5-7
Live generously
A life of generosity will change our world. It’s how God created you to live.
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. ~ Isaiah 1:17
Connect in a small group
Life change happens best when we’re developing and deepening relationships.
Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well. ~ 1 Thessalonians 2:8
Share your story
You have a unique faith story. Share it with others and help them take their next step of faith.
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. ~ 1 Peter 3:15
